Europe saw, in the 20th century, borders being changed in the first world war and countries being invaded in the first and second world war, at the cost of millions of lives. The Soviet Bloc was created after World War II. Russia did invade Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968. However, both countries, at the time, were part of the Soviet Bloc. Some may say that this is semantics and they would be right.
Europe, hoped that the days of European countries being invaded were over. A new normal. Putin is challenging the new normal, first by his invasion of Crimea back in 2014 and now his invasion of Ukraine.
The US, under Biden, was a strong supporter of Ukraine and democracy. Just as an aside I am a child of parents whose country was invaded by both Germany and Russia back in World War II.
Trump has come in and turned the world upside down. He said that he would bring peace to Ukraine in day one of his presidency. He is now nearing day 100. Trump says that he has put much pressure on Russia to end this invasion. After Putin bombed the crap out of Kyiv a couple nights ago Trump’s response was ‘Vladimir Stop’. This has created thousands of memes on social media as Putin once again has made a fool of Trump. Now Trump is saying that Russia’s concession, in achieving peace, is not taking all of Ukraine. He is saying, Russia can keep Crimea and the land in eastern Ukraine, that Russia has already occupied. That is Russia’s concession. The rest of Europe is saying well if that is the case, what happens when Russia invades the next country. When will it stop?
America, you voted for this clown. How could you?
That is all I have for today.
