Mark Carney is in with a near majority, Jagmeet Singh is gone and Pierre Poilievre is looking for a seat. Now what?
Bloc Québécois leader Blanchet is promising to support Carney with releasing to dealing with Trump. Blanchet pretty well has to say this given that his party lost 13 seats with most of those seats going to the liberals. Blanchet realizes that Quebec culture is in danger regarding Tomter and his threat to annex Canada. Blanchet gave the strongest statement regarding Mark Carney’s upcoming dealings with Trump. The other parties indicate that they would support too, but they were not as clear in their desire to support Mark Carney has Blanchet was.
Mark Carney has already agreed to have a face-to-face meeting with Trump. The following was in a summary of the phone call with Trump.
“The leaders agreed on the importance of Canada and the United States working together – as independent, sovereign nations – for their mutual betterment.”
For Carney, the easy part was winning the election. As Carney himself is saying, there is a lot to do. The hard part truly begins now.
That is all I have for today.
