King Charles gave his speech from the throne to the Canadian parliament yesterday. Donald Trump was listening and he was not very happy with what he heard.

King Charles stated the following in his speech

“Democracy, pluralism, the rule of law, self-determination and freedom are values that Canadians hold dear and one which the government is determined to protect,”

Notice the words, self-determination and freedom? Trump, for months, has talked about annexing Canada to be the 51st state. Amongst other pet projects is one that has come up recently. That project is to build a golden dome over the states, similar to Israel’s iron dome, preventing any missiles from hitting US territory.

The thing is Trump needs Canada to participate in this pet project. This project would cost approximately $175 billion. So Trump, after hearing King Charles’ speech managed to combine both pet projects into a truth social post.

“I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State,” Trump said in a social media post on Tuesday. “They are considering the offer!”

First of all, Donald, Canada is not considering the offer. Canada would never willingly be annexed by the US. Mark Carney did indicate last week that he is considering participating in this golden dome project. But at no time did he tie the two pet projects together. The whole golden dome thing is an issue that will probably go away in time. It will probably never get off the ground.
