There is a song called ‘Tired of Waiting’ by the Trews. it was written in 2003 and released in 2004. That is 21 years ago. That is nothing compared to when the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup that would be the 1993 Montréal Canadiens.

The Edmonton Oilers have had a longer wait. Last time the Oilers won the Stanley Cup was 35 years ago back in 1990. The last time the Oilers were in the Stanley Cup final were back in 2006 when they lost the Carolina hurricanes season seven and last year when they lost the Florida Panthers and seven.

The Oilers are in the finals again. The series is tied at one after two overtime games. Leon Draisaitl scored the winning goal in the first overtime of game one and Brad Marchand, who everyone loves to hate, scored the winning goal in the second overtime of game two.

Right now it is stressful being an Edmonton Oilers fan. It is stressful to watch. Now, Oiler fans have to wait three days until the next game. As the song says, I’m tired of waiting , it’s time to bring the cup home to Canada and Edmonton. I guess it could be worse. I could be a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. They are turning into the Chicago Cubs of hockey. They have not won the cup in almost 60 years.
