Back, in the late summer of 2001, the biggest story in the media was the disappearance of Chandra Levy. She was a Washington staffer who disappeared in May of that year. As the summer wore on, it came out that she had had an affair with a married democrat congressman. He denied it at first and then finally admitted to the affair. Even up to September 10, of that year the story was grabbing top headlines. That all changed on September 11.

This year, the top stories, until a couple of days ago, was the ICE fiasco, in Los Angeles, and King Trump’s parade, today, to be held in Washington. The top headline today is the parade and the no King protests to be held throughout the US.

Meanwhile, half a world away, an all out war may be potentially developing between Iran and Israel. There have already been air raids on Israel and on Iran with casualties on both sides. Israel is intent on decapitating Iran’s military leadership and killing their top nuclear scientists. Iran is retaliating with missile bombardments of Israeli cities. So far, Israel’s iron dome has minimized the number of casualties. However, as of this chirp, three Israelis have died. Furthermore, Israel has vowed, that if Iran keeps up its bombardment of Israeli cities, Tehran, will burn. this has the potential of dragging in major powers, such as the US and Russia.

We can only hope that King Trump‘s parade is still the major headline next week. We can only hope that what is happening in the Middle East calms down before a Pandora’s box is opened that cannot be closed
