No, this is not about Donald Trump’s character, even though he is revolting. I guess you can say the same thing about a lot of his base. But whatever.

This is about the fact that the base and Congress are revolting against Trump. The base remains upset about the apparent attempted coverup by Trump. Congress is so upset that Mike Johnson had to call an early recess just to avoid votes on accessing Department of Justice files on Epstein.

That being said, the Republican lead oversight committee voted 8 to 2 to subpoena Department of Justice to provide all documentation related to Jeffrey Epstein. That means that three Republican members voted in favour of this.

Information but is now coming out that Pam Bondi informed Trump, back in February, that his name was in the Department of Justice Epstein files. Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche is set to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, today, to discuss the Epstein case. Blanche is one of Trump’s favourite lawyers. Blanche has defended Trump on a member of his cases. How trustworthy will the information be that Blanche shares.

For those of us old enough to remember, this has the feel of Nixon and Watergate back in 1973, when Nixon was trying to cover up the whole mess. The cover-up was worse than the initial break in into the Watergate.
