Scary

When I was a kid, I had a short wave radio. Some nights, I could pick up radio Moscow. In the news they would say how they made 12 million tractors in the last year and other amazing things where they always exceeded production goals. Of course, even back then, I knew it was BS, coming from a totalitarian state, where listeners were told whatever the government wanted to tell them.

A jobs report came out in the US this week, showing that only 73,000 jobs were created in July. The numbers for May and June were sharply revised downwards, also. So how did dear leader Trump react to these numbers? Why naturally, he fired, the person who was responsible for developing those numbers. That would be Erica McEntarfer, Commissioner of the Bureau of Labour Statistics.

Without any proof, dear leader, said that the numbers were manipulated for political purposes.

“In my opinion, today’s Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad,”

Notice the first three words, ‘ in my opinion’. This should scare everybody. He didn’t like the numbers so he fired the person who developed the numbers. He has no actual proof that the numbers were wrong, but in his opinion, they were not right. Anyone, and I mean, anyone, who works for this president, will be afraid to give him any bad news from now on in because that person could get fired. Any information that this administration provides from now on will have to be questioned. This is already happening, the manipulation of information. Funding has been cut to broadcasters such as PBS. Universities have been forced to toe the line with Trump. TV networks have been sued by Trump because of things he did not like. This is happening right in front of our eyes.

This might be a minor news story compared to all the other things going on this week, including the insane tariffs, but it must be taken heed. This is truly frightening.

That’s all I have for today.
