Nexstar and Sinclair are two TV empires in the United States. They are also major supporters of Donald Trump. When Brendan Carr, chairman of the FCC, went to war with Jimmy Kimmel last week, following his comments on the Kirk murder, these two empires decided to take the Jimmy Kimmel show off the air. These two empires accounted for almost a quarter of the affiliates that carried the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Sinclair, in taking the show off the air, claimed

“our decision to preempt this program was independent of any government interaction or influence.”

I don’t have a sense of smell, but even I could smell that statement stunk to high heaven.

ABC, following the moves by the two empires, and, following disparaging comments made by Donald Trump, decided to take the Jimmy Kimmel show off the air. ABC stated that the show would be off the air, indefinitely. ABC was pretty well saying that the Jimmy Kimmel show was done for.

Well, after only a few days, facing intense pressure, from Americans, ABC caved in and put the Jimmy chemist show back on there. However, the two empires declared that they would keep preempting the show from their 60 affiliates until Jimmy Kimmel addressed their concerns of accountability. Furthermore, Sinclair demanded that Jimmy Kimmel apologize to the Kirk family, and to make a donation to his political organization.

Jimmy Kimmel made light of the decisions of the two empires to keep his show off the year for their affiliates.

“Even though we are still being preempted in 60 American cities, on Tuesday, we had our second-highest rated show in almost 23 years on the air. Our monologue from Tuesday night has more than 21 million views just on YouTube alone. And I want to say, we couldn’t have done it without you, Mr. President. Thank you very much. We got the Trump bump, and we appreciate it.”

The American consumer struck back at the two empires. Nexstar and Sinclair were deluged by Americans demanding that the show be put back on their affiliates. The two empires finally caved in and their affiliates began showing the program again on Friday night. It was an unconditional surrender by the two empires.

“While ABC and Disney have not yet adopted these measures, and Sinclair respects their right to make those decisions under our network affiliate agreements, we believe such measures could strengthen trust and accountability.”

In other words, ABC and Disney basically told the two empires to take a hike. Donald Trump was so angry at this that he pressured the department of justice to indict Jim Comey. If you think these two things are not related, they are. Oh, and Donald, release the Epstein files. No matter how much you try to deflect with these other issues, we have not forgotten, and we will not forget.
