OOOPS

CBS was all set to air a segment on Venezuelans deported to a prison in El Salvador. The prison is called CECOT and has been accused of conducting torture and human rights violations. The segment included interviews with some of the prisoners who have been tortured.

Donald Trump, sued the parent company, of CBS, Paramount over an interview on 60 Minutes with Kamala Harris. Trump got a settlement of $16 million. Donald Trump was very unhappy with an interview done with Marjorie Taylor Greene, a month ago.

CBS gave a reason that the segment was not complete, and that the White House had been asked for comments and had not responded to the request.

The new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, killed the segment, much to the anger of those who collaborated on the segment, and who have loudly voiced the opinion that the segment should’ve been shown.

CBS made an amazing slip up though. Global news, in Canada, has the rights to the 60 Minutes show in Canada. CBS had sent the tape to Globak two days before airing in the US. Global showed the segment in its entirety. The segment ended with the reporter saying that the White House had been asked for comments and had not yet responded. People who watched the segment shared the segment on social media and the segment has gone viral.

CBS is doing a lot of backtracking, now, saying that the segment will be aired on a later date. But concerns have been raised about the influence. Trump is having on media as a whole. It is Trump‘s desire to have all news networks be in line with Russian state TV. So red flag warnings are flying all over the place today.

That’s all I have today.
