Lies Upon Lies

The more Trump lies, the deeper into the doodoo he gets. Two examples here.

First is a letter sent by a Trump lawyer, in June, following a meeting at Mar-a-lago, where 15 boxes of documents were retrieved. The letter stated that there were no more classified documents at Mar-a-lago. Last Monday’s search showed that letter to be a lie. Trump may claim that he has declassified all these documents, but there is a process involved. Regardless, some of those documents are at such a high level of “top secret” classification that they must be held at a secure government facility. There will be consequences. First of all, did the lawyer knowlingly lie? If so, the lawyer and others who participated in the lie will face penalties, including disbarment for the lawyer. However, if Trump and his circle, knowingly held back this information from the lawyer, and others, legal ramifications come into play, such as obstruction of justice and espionage.

The second lie is “whataboutism” shameless. Trump claims that Barak Obama took 30 million documents with him to Chicago. Trump claimed “This act is strongly at odds with NARA” Why is Obama not in trouble? Trump knows why.

The “NARA” that Trump referred to is the National Archives And Records Administration Department. It is true, documents were sent to Chicago. However, these documents were transferred to a federal government facilty, which is the proper process. NARA took legal ownership of the documents and sorted the documents out, including which documents could eventually be released to the public later on. Some documents, once sorted, went, as per standard procedure, to Obama’s presidential library.

Trump’s misleading of fact was so bad that NARA actually released a statement on the issue.

“NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA,”

“Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration.”

Donnie, you kept records at home, where anyone could come in and out. Quit while you are behind. You are so far behind, you are being lapped.
