When I first saw some tweets about this, on Twitter, my first reaction was that it has to be a joke. It is true though. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) has been booted out of the Freedom Caucus. The Freedom Caucus, having been borne from the Tea Party, are the hard right Congress Members, of the Republican Party. They can also be called the loonies of the Party. MTG is as hard right and as loony as they come. She is of Jewish space laser fame.

So, why was MTG kicked out. She had a little dustup with fellow loon, Lauren Boebert, a couple of weeks ago, on the House floor, where she called a Boebert a ‘little bitch”. They were fighting over who should be first in submitting impeachment documents against Joe Biden. According to Republican Congressmen, Andy Harris,

“A vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she’s done. I think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to other fellow, especially female, members.”

But there is more to it and it is evidence that the Republican House is tearing apart, from the inside. A few weeks ago, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Biden, much to the anger of the Freedom Caucus, reached an agreement on the debt ceiling. The House voted on it, and with Democrat help, the agreement was approved. Every member of the Freedom Caucus voted against the agreement, except for one person, MTG. Out she went.

The Freedom Caucus Members, who don’t really like Kevin McCarthy, to begin with, vented their anger on MTG, and voted her, overwhelmingly, out of their group. In a bit of irony, Lauren Boebert, did not vote to kick her out. The Republican gong show continues. Who knows what is going to happen next.
