Karl Rove was the mastermind behind the two George Bush presidential election victories. He was called ‘Bush’s brain’. He is as Republican as one can be. Something like Liz Cheney.

That being said, this Republican ripped into Donald Trump.

“If they were smart, they’d take the Jan. 6 and go hard at it. And they would say, ‘He wants to pardon these people who attacked our Capitol.”

He did not stop there.

“One of the critical mistakes made in this campaign is that Donald Trump has now said, ‘I’m going to pardon those people because they’re hostages. No, they’re not. They’re thugs.”

Rove kept on going. After calling the January 6 rioters ‘sons of bitches’, Rove went on to say,

We’re facing as a country, a decision … and you know, everybody gets to make it … as to what kind of leadership we’re going to have. And to me, it is a mistake on the part of the Trump campaign to allow the president’s impulses to identify himself with the people who assaulted the Capitol rather than people who stand for law and order.”

Yet, Trump calls himself the ‘law and order President’. There are so many establishment Republicans going against Trump now. Add to that, the number of former Trump cabinet members and Vice President Pence stating that they cannot endorse Trump. Add to that, all the legal difficulties that Trump faces, that sooner or later the dam will break and overwhelm Trump. One can hope.
