“With fear for our democracy, I dissent”

These are the words spoken by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, in the dissenting opinion on the Supreme Court decision that Donald Trump has immunity on crimes committed while conducting official acts as president. Basically, the Supreme Court has decided that Donald Trump is above the law. No president since 1776 when America got its independence has needed such a ruling, until now. Donald Trump is already requested that the hush money case be thrown out because of this decision. The other three cases will most likely be delayed and possibly thrown out because of this decision. Trump will claim that all activities related to the charges brought to him, on the other three cases, were done under the auspices of conducting official acts as president.

The Supreme Court decision followers on the heels of Biden‘s disastrous debate performance last week. Right now behind the scenes there is inviting within the Democrat party asked whether Biden should be replaced as candidate for president. The Democrat party is in disarray. The Supreme Court decision has brought American democracy to its knees. Justice Sotomayor is right in fearing for democracy.
