There is supposed to be a debate, on September 10, on ABC. You would think that Donald Trump wants this debate more than Kamala Harris given the momentum wave that Harris is riding. But Trump appears to be backing off.

On his Truth Social yesterday he called the network a bunch of Trump haters following a panel discussion on ABC yesterday. He questions why he should even debate on that network. But his big gripe, seems to be, that when one candidate is speaking, the microphone of the other candidate should be muted. That was the rule in the Trump Biden debate and he wants the same rule and debate. Kamala Harris wants the microphones to not to be muted with the other candidate is speaking.

Harris seems to think that she will have an advantage with un muted microphones. The Harris team believe that Harris is much faster on her feet and will be quick with retorts, and also Trump will make a number of embarrassing remarks when Harris is speaking.

This is quite a turnaround for Trump. If you remember, back in 2020, he pushed for open microphone and he kept cutting in when Biden was speaking. Harris seems to be holding all the cards right now. Trump needs this debate far more than Harris. So I think he will give in to the Harris demand, even though he does not like it this time around.
