Hurricane Helene has resulted in over 200 deaths in the United States. The hardest hit of those states is North Carolina, especially the western part of the state.

A couple of my chirps in the past few days covered the misinformation that Donald Trump is spreading about FEMA’s and the government’s overall response to the disaster. What Trump is doing is creating massive distrust of government agencies, providing relief to the people who most need the relief. sooner or later, people will start dying because they will refuse help of those who could most help them.

What Trump is doing is hurting his own supporters. Western North Carolina is heavily Republican. officials from his own party are begging him to stop to misinformation. North Carolina state senator, Kevin Corbin, who represents one of the areas, most devastated by the hurricane, said the following,

“Will you all help STOP this conspiracy theory junk that is floating all over Facebook and the internet about the floods in [North Carolina]? These rumors are just a distraction to people trying to do their job.”

The Charlotte Observer, a leading newspaper, in North Carolina, wrote the following,

“This is not a situation to capitalize on for political gain. But former President Donald Trump has politicized the situation at every turn, spreading falsehoods and conspiracies that fracture the community instead of bringing it together.”

Donald Trump has no soul.
