Donald Trump wants to take away the licenses of news networks that do not support him or his agenda. He might not have to do that to get rid of irritants to him such as CNN and MSNBC.

Ratings for these two news networks have crashed, since the election. CNN is down 36%, while MSNBC is down 54%. I can understand why. Since election night I’ve watched neither news network and I don’t plan to for a long while.

Both of these networks could take a lesson from Fox News. back in 2020, right after the election, Fox tried to report the news accurately, for about a week. In doing so, they lost a ton of viewers to extreme right networks, such as Newsmax. Fox made a decision to go hard right and got their viewers back. CNN and MSNBC might have to do the same thing. They will have to go full anti-Trump to get their viewers back.

By doing so we would lose all news neutrality. But where ratings are God, this may be the only realistic choice for networks, such as, CNN and MSNBC.

A similar occurrence is happening on social media. people are flocking away from Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, and moving to the friendlier confines of Bluesky. Right now I am on both sites but I eventually will leave Twitter for good.

It is like seeing a train crash and not being able to stop it. We all will be going further to the left or further to the right and any hopes of middle ground, of compromise, will keep on diminishing.
