Danielle Smith, maybe you should start listening to your elders, especially if that elder is from Alberta and used to be a prime minister.

I’m going to give you a few quotes that Harper made on an American podcast, earlier this week. First of all, Harper said that with regards to Trump’s threats on Canada, the Trump‘s words were not that of a,

“friend, a partner and an ally.”

regarding Trump’s atrocious claim that the US is subsidizing in Canada to the tune of $100 billion a year and tying it into Canada’s oil exports to the states,

“It is true that Canada presently has a modest trade surplus with the United States. The reason we do is because you buy so much of our oil and gas. In fact, you buy it at a discount to world markets. It’s actually Canada that subsidizes the United States in this regard.”

“Maybe Canadians, if Mr. Trump feels this way, should be looking at selling their oil and gas to other people. We certainly have always wanted to do some of that – maybe now’s the time to do it.”

With regard to the flow of immigrants and illegal drugs, from Canada into the US, Harper had this to say,

“There is no migrant flow happening from Canada the United States of any significant numbers. And I’m going to tell you right now, drugs, guns, crime – most of those things flow north, not south,”

A couple things about what Harper said. First of all, Danielle Smith, you might want to listen to what Harper is saying about the exporting of gas to the states. He is implying that the flow to the states should be cut off and that there are other markets that the gas could be sold too. This is your former leader, saying this Danielle.

The second thing is, it is so very refreshing to hear a conservative, let alone a former consider a Prime Minister, discuss what actually is happening at the border. Most of the problem is coming from the US as opposed to going to the US. I’m sure you will never hear Danielle Smith or Pierre Poilievre make those statements. It makes one wonder whether Harper is switching sides to liberals.
