The latest Nanos poll is now showing an eight point liberal lead. Just a day ago the same poll showed a six point lead. The momentum is still going the liberal’s way.
When comparing Carney to Poilievre, this lead goes into double digits. When asked about PP getting a security clearance, 60% of Canadian said he should.
More good news for the liberals, PP is doubling down on the strategy of focussing on various issues other than tariffs. Today is the day before Trump plans to launch a whole series of tariffs, in what Trump is calling liberation day. If you are watching Canadian media this morning, this is the top story of the day. PP is focussing on other issues, much to his detriment. There are also reports of in fighting within the conservative campaign over PP’s strategy. PP is also stating that he will cut foreign aid, much in line with what Trump is doing in the states.
Another piece of good news for the liberals, is that Paul Chiang, the controversial candidate that I chirped about yesterday has withdrawn from the race. He probably did so after much internal pressure from within a liberal party.
That’s all I have for today.
