RECESSION?!!

The person above is Jim Mora. Many years ago he was the coach of the New Orleans Saints. After a Saints loss, in the post game interview, Maura was asked about the Saint’s chances of making the playoffs. His response was classic. You have to see the interview because the words in themselves do not do justice.

Playoffs?!! Playoffs?!! Are you kidding me?!! Don’t talk to me about playoffs!!

I can imagine that Donald Trump is saying the same thing right now. Or substitute the word playoffs for recession. Perhaps the last word at the end of that “should be changed to depression.

Back in 1930, then President Herbert Hoover signed the Smoot-Harley Tariff Act. The act levied a number of tariffs on countries worldwide. A number of countries, including Canada retaliated. US exports sank. Canada started to become more reliant on trading partner such as the UK and France. The act worsened is depression and the US economy did not really have a full recovery until World War II.

It is obvious that Donald Trump did not do well in history while in school. He is repeating the same mistake that Hoover did. The Dow Jones has lost 10% of its market value in just two days. While the world was crashing around him, Donald Trump was out golfing. Not a good look Donald.

Trump has the mind of a five-year-old child. He’s not getting his way on this one, but he’s not gonna stop because he thinks he’s right and he’s the only one who knows that he’s right. What is more frightening is that when this falls apart, he will go to something else more radical. He will start invading countries. Maybe he’ll practice by invading Heard Island. This is the island that’s inhabited only by penguins and seals but was still hit with a 10% tariff. Even though the penguins will probably put in a good fight Trump will see how easy it is and then proceed to other countries such as Canada.

You might think that could never happen. But did you really see this happening?

That is all I have for today.
