Favourite Son

Many years ago, Mike Pence was a popular governor of Indiana. He became vice president to Donald Trump. He was teased for the way he was so effusively praising Donald Trump at every opportunity. He was popular with the Republican ranks. Then he chose not to support Donald Trump, in Trump’s bud to remain as president after having lost the 2020 election. We all remember the hang Mike Pence chants on January 6. Mike Pence is a non-entity today in Republican ranks.

A few months ago, Elon Musk was the golden boy of the Republican Party. There was talk that he could be the successor to Donald Trump as president. Then he criticized Donald Trump’s big beautiful bill. Now his name is mud within Republican ranks.

Donald Trump campaigned on the fact that he would end forever wars. He has been constantly critical of George Bush’s war with Iraq. Now, he is contemplating getting involved with Israel’s war with Iran. One of Trump’s harshest critics, of his entering this war, is Tucker Carlson. Tucker Carlson was the golden boy at Fox entertainment, before he got let go. Even though he was let go and started his own podcast, he was still the golden boy of the Republican, right. Now he is challenging Trump. Carlson, on his podcast, had a two hour slug fest with Ted Cruz, who is supporting Trump in attacking Iran.

Trump reacted this way to Carlson’s criticism,

“Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”

Carlson’s star is going to start falling. No one, within Republican ranks, dares challenge Donald Trump and walks away unscathed. Donald Trump surely is the favourite son of the Republican Party. This is our current reality.

That is all I have for today.
