I might upset a few people with this chirp. I think we can all agree that Donald Trump is a narcissistic egotistical asshole. But I’m beginning to think that Trump does have a method to his apparent madness.

Just one week ago, America was shaken by a political assassination. Hardly in the headlines these days. Illegal immigrants are still being deported. Hardly in the headlines these days. In the headlines is Iran and Trump‘s threat to participate with Israel in attacking Iran.

Earlier this year, Trump started his tariff war on the world. That war is still going on. Canada here is struggling with 50% tariffs on aluminum and steel. There have been no apparent trade deals with the US by any country except perhaps the UK. The Dow Jones fell by almost 5% when Trump started this insane tariff war. There were threats of recession and calamity and stock market crashes and so on. Yet here we are. The US economy is still rolling along.

Trump did not like Israel attacking Iran until he did like it. He wanted to get some credit for it of course. His narcissistic egotistical side. Then news started leaking out, probably by Trump himself, that he was considering joining Israel and attacking Iran. Started a mini war within MAGA. Also, Trump, as he always craves, became the centre of attention. Now he is giving a two week respite for diplomacy, so he says. Iran is in a much weaker position than they were before. Israel started its war on Iran. Iran is meeting with European leaders this weekend. It is quite possible, that with this two week break Iran might actually agree to agreement where the nuclear facilities will be at least monitored and perhaps dismantled.

Trump will of course take all the credit. And he might deserve it. I choked on those last words.
