Don’t Go There

Donald, I know you are riding high, now, with your bombing raid of Iran and its nuclear facilities. But you should learn to leave well enough alone. While your apologists, were on Sunday TV saying that the US was not looking at regime change, there you go saying resume change would be nice.

This is what happens when you have someone who doesn’t believe in history, or history, repeating itself. The Russians tried Afghanistan and look what happened there. George Bush went to Afghanistan after 911 and 20 years later, the US left, and the Taliban is in charge. Let us not forget Iraq and the mess that is in.

One lesson that should be apparent to anybody is that regime must come from within. Even so, if it comes from within, it still might end up with regime failure. Look at Libya and possibly the same thing might happen in Syria.

Iran and Iraq is not like Canada or the US. It is a mix of diverse ethnicities, including Persians and Kurds. If the current regime is overthrown, it is most likely that the existing ethnicities will be fighting with each other for power. The most stark example was Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was held together by the dictator Tito. Yugoslavia fell apart at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives.

Even Canada with only two major cohesive distinct cultures was one percent away from being torn apart in 1995 when Quebec had its separation vote.

No this is not a snub on the 600 plus First Nation Bands, in Canada. Each band is diverse.

Whatever happens in Iran, whether regime changes is forced from outside or occurs from within, it is going to be messy. It is just the make up of the region, in part caused by artificial boundaries created by the west in creating artificial borders

That is all I have for today.
