There’s an old proverb that says imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Donald Trump should be very flattered by what Gavin Newsom is doing. Newsom has been imitating Trump’s style of tweets. Well, OK, some, well, perhaps many, are saying that Newsom is mocking Trump. They are right, he is.

But Newsom is getting under the skin of MAGA and of Fox entertainment in particular. This is what Dana Perino a fox entertainer said of Newsom’s tweets

“I don’t know where his wife is. If I were his wife, I would say you are making a fool of yourself, stop it.”

Newsom, in return, is finding great joy in mocking Fox, and its entertainers.

“DANA ‘DING DONG’ PERINO (NEVER HEARD OF HER UNTIL TODAY!) IS MELTING DOWN BECAUSE OF ME, GAVIN C. NEWSOM! FOX HATES THAT I AM AMERICA’S MOST FAVORITE GOVERNOR (“RATINGS KING”) SAVING AMERICA — WHILE TRUMP CAN’T EVEN CONQUER THE ‘BIG’ STAIRS ON AIR FORCE ONE ANYMORE!!! TRUMP HAS ‘LOST HIS STEP’ AND FOX IS LOSING IT BECAUSE WHEN I TYPE, AMERICA NOW WINS!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.”

There is such a delicious irony here. Fox entertainers are going crazy over the fact that Newsom is doing what Trump is doing in his tweets. They are calling Newsom’s tweets immature. They are immature. But they cannot concede the fact that Trump has been doing this all along.

What a world we live in.
