This is Joe McCarthy. He was a senator from Wisconsin for the years 1947 to 1956. This was right at the beginning of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States. During his term senator, he started a witch hunt, stating that communist spies had infiltrated the US government, universities, Hollywood, and other influential industries. He rulned the lives of thousands of people during his witch hunt. The term, McCarthyism, was coined. Wikipedia, defined McCarthyism as follows.

“Today the term is used more broadly to mean demagogic, reckless, and unsubstantiated accusations, as well as public attacks on the character or patriotism of political opponents.”

That sounds eerily familiar to a certain person who currently is president of the United States. During a campaign speech, in 2024 Donald Trump said the following.

“I am your warrior, I am your justice. For those who have been wronged and betrayed … I am your retribution.”

Jim Comey was indicted yesterday. Jim Comey was the former FBI director, during Donald Trump‘s first term as president. Trump and Comey were at constant loggerheads,with each other, until Trump fired him. Trump has wanted revenge on Comey, for years .

There is a frightening twist to this story. If charges were to be brought against Comey, they were to come under the jurisdiction of the eastern district of Virginia. The Attorney General for that district was Eric Siebert , a lifelong Republican and Trump nominee. Eric Siebert determined there was not enough evidence to lay charges on Comey. Trump, angered by this, forced Siebert to resign. Trump, then found a flunky, to replace Siebert, and do his bidding.

Comey has been charged on two counts. Obstruction of a congressional proceeding and giving false testimony to Congress. Jim Comey, for his part, basically said to bring it on and let’s have a trial.

Trump is out for revenge against anybody who he feels has wronged him. He wants to go after.Comey, Adam Schiff, Adam Kinsinger, Liz, Cheney, and others. He will not be satisfied until he sees them all behind bars. The frightening part is that there’s no guardrails, this time around. Will FBI director Kash Patel stand up to him? Not a prayer. Will Attorney General Pam Bondi, stand up to him? It has been revealed that she has reservations about this, but in the long run, she will give in to Trump. Just look at the Epstein files.

Joe McCarthy was censored by fellow senators in 1954. He was an alcoholic and died in disgrace in 1957. We can only hope the same thing happens to Donald Trump for what he is doing to the United States right now.
