Back in 1998, Bill Clinton was impeached by the House. His impeachment was, in part, due to the fact that he lied about getting blowjobs from Monica Lewinsky. Sorry to be so crass about it, but it is what it is. Or as Bill Clinton so famously put it. It depends on what is is.
Not to apologize for Bill Clinton, but we are talking about a blow job between two consenting adults. The key here is consenting and adults. We are also talking about a lie under oath. In other words, a cover-up about getting a blow job.
Now, if the term blowjob offends you, how about the words, rape and pedophile? For the last few months, Donald Trump and his lemming house of Congress has been delaying, deflecting, denying any possibility of having a vote in the House on a vote to release the Epstein files. Four Republicans, along with all the Democrats signed onto a petition, forcing a vote in the house. Three of those people are women Democrats love to hate. They are Marjorie Taylor, Greene, Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace. Despite pressure by Trump and other high ranking Republican officials, these women have refused to take their names off the petition. As a result, a vote, will go ahead next week. Given all the new emails coming out this week the dam has finally broken and it looks like a number of Republicans will vote to have the files released.
Up until now, the Republicans led by Donald Trump, were, in essence, defending men who were having sex with children. They were defending pedophiles. This is supposedly the party of family values.
Finally, the realization dawned on them, that this was what they were doing, and that was a very bad look. Pretty well now they are saying, Donald you are on your own.
There is a possibility that when the vote is held more than 2/3 of house members will vote to release the files. That is a veto proof majority. This would still have to go onto the Senate and then Donald Trump would have to sign it into law. If it goes to the Senate, and that is still a big if, 67 members would have to vote to release the Epstein files. This would be a veto proof majority in the Senate. Donald Trump could not refuse to sign if this happens.
The likelihood of two veto proof majorities are low. But the tide is turning. Donald Trump no longer looks impenetrable, to scandal. This is not going away.
That is all I have for today.
