FIFA awarded Donald Trump their first FIFA peace prize yesterday. It brought to mind, Oprah Winfrey, giving away cars, on her show.

“ you get a car and you get a car and you get a car…”

FIFA, in awarding the prize, did not identify the criteria or the process, used in selecting the prize winner. The FIFA group selection presentation was held at the Kennedy Center, in Washington DC. I guess that might’ve been the only criteria.

Donald Trump had long campaigned, to be awarded the Nobel peace prize. He did not hide his anger when he was not selected. The FIFA World Cup, next year, will be held in United States, along with Mexico and Canada. FIFA needs Trump on their side, to make sure that the World Cup runs smoothly. That is going to be a tricky thing with ICE, on patrol.

Reaction to Trump getting the award was swift and ugly, as evidenced on the following examples on social media.

“FIFA is so corrupted man, they actually made a ‘peace’ award for Trump because he got upset about not getting the Nobel peace prize… What are we even doing here?”

“It’s like given the child a sweetie to keep him amused. When does it end?”

“Pathetic. Giving a peace prize to a man whose administration is literally murdering people in international waters for being suspected drug dealers.”

Ana Navarro, a commentator for CNN, put it best when she compared Trump getting this award similar to kids getting play phones because they see their parents using phones. It is amazing the lengths Trump will go through to get recognition and praise. He is actually acting like an insecure five-year-old wanting praise all the time. What is more sickening is that there are leaders, countries, and organizations that are willing to play along
