Upping The Ante

Donald, believe it or not, I’m actually pulling for you and I’m hoping your latest plan, called ‘Project Freedom’, successfully brings this war to an end and actually does open up the Strait of Hormuz.

You have backed yourself into a corner and if this doesn’t work, then we are all in trouble. The average price of gas today per gallon in your country is $4.46 per gallon. The average price of diesel is around $5.50 per gallon. Diesel fuel is needed to transport goods from anywhere to anywhere else. Let’s not go into the dwindling supply of jet fuel. Furthermore, analyst say that if the strait is not open in another month, gas prices can go up to five dollars a gallon and diesel prices up to six dollars a gallon. I could tell you how much this would be for us in Canada but then we would have to explain the concept of litres to you.

This is a fast evolving situation. You’ve already claimed that your forces have escorted two merchant ships through the strait, already, this morning. Iran has claimed that they’ve already launched missiles against US ships, something that you deny. You realize that this is a very risky solution. First of all, do you have the resources to escort all the ships that need to be escorted, continuously? It is an expensive proposition and should be seen as a short term solution. But then what after?

Next, if Iran strike strikes back and the strike is confirmed, is this your excuse to go after Iran, with your full military might? Would that entail ground forces in Iran? Would that entail sending forces in to take out the enriched uranium? I hope you and your advisors have thought this through and have it all gamed out

I don’t have high expectations, Donald, but for the sake of all of us, I really hope this pans out.

That’s all I have for today.
