Fox Entertainment has always been out front in its right-wing ideology. Back in 2015, Fox jumped on the Trump bandwagon, and, at the time, it must have felt like a gift from hreaven. There already strong ratings skyrocketed. Tucker Carlson became the new Rush Limbaugh. It was all going good. It was going so good, that others such as Newsmax and OAN joined the party. The period from 2015 to 2020 was the pinnacle of success for Fox.

Then Trump lost the 2020 election. Fox, because they did label themselves as a news network, tried to act like one, for a couple of days. They were the first to report that Arizona had gone to Biden, before any other network. They fact checked Trump’s blustering lies and conspiracies for the first couple of days. Backlash. Trumpkins started going to Newsmax and OAN. Tucker wanted a reporter fired for fact checking a Trump lie. Rupert Murdoch decided and later admitted that the important colour was not Democrat blue or Republican red but money green. Fox went full in on Trump’s election fraud claims and voting systems manipulation. They got many of their viewers back. But not all of them. They also got a lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems. In order to avoid a humiliating trial they paid Dominion $787 million to go away. They let go Lou Dobbs and fired Tucker Carlson.

Fox was still trying to pretend to be a news organization. But their ratings was not as strong as before Firing Tucker cost them more viewers. Then Trump got indicted in Miami. The actual 49 page indictment was released. Fox guests such as Bill Barr and Johnathan Turley said, on Fox, that Trump was toast and in deep doodoo. On Monday night the unthinkable happened. The ratings for that left-wing demon Rachel Maddow was higher than that of Sean Hannity.

On the day of Trump’s indictment Fox had a crawler with the words ‘wannabe dictator Biden’. Yesterday, Fox had a news report about a flag flown at the White House.

“controversial new transgender flag that promotes grooming and pedophilia,…,a mysterious and divisive new symbol of pride had a coming-out party…some even saying” it “appears to reference a cult of pedophilia.”

The news story forgot to mention that Fox’s logo had the same flag wrapped wrapped around it last year.

The White House has been very silent about the Trump indictment and arrest. However, they did not hold back on Fox. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre when asked about the ‘wannabe dictator smear’ responded, as follows,

“There are probably about 787 million things that I can say about this. That was wrong what we saw last night, but I don’t think I’m going to get into it.”

What are you implying, Karine? Fox, in its weak defense, released the following statement,

“The chyron was taken down immediately and was addressed.”

Note the lack of apology. Another Biden official stated,

“Fox paid the biggest settlement in media history because they platformed dangerous lies, and the lesson they took from that experience is to repeat the same behavior, including spreading baseless QAnon filth? Fox is actively disrespecting their viewers, abusing people’s trust for profit.”

Fox has no one to blame for their vulnerability but themselves. They created this Trump monster and now they have lost control. The more they back Trump to keep their Trumpkin audience the lower their credibility sinks and their vulnerability to lawsuits increase. Could not have happened to a more deserving network.
