Team Trump met with officials from the Special Counsel’s office. Jack Smith was there for part of the meeting. Trump later posted the following on his Truth Social site.

“My attorneys had a productive meeting with the DOJ this morning, explaining in detail that I did nothing wrong, was advised by many lawyers, and that an Indictment of me would only further destroy our Country.  No indication of notice (of indictment) was given during the meeting — Do not trust the Fake News on anything!”

So, Donnie said it was a great meeting and an indictment would destroy the country. Donnie, no indictment would destroy the country. Whatever. Jack Smith, gave his version of “oh yeah, watch this” and filed a superseding indictment, later in the day, on the Mar-a Lago documents case. He added a third defendant who is accused of deleting security footage, as requested by the ‘Boss’. So now we are going into the territory of Trump desiring to destroy evidence. Can anyone old enough remember Richard Nixon’s 18 minutes of Watergate tape being erased.

But it gets better. Trump is facing a new charge relating to the mishandling of classified documents. Specifically, this relates to the tape of Trump, back in July 2022, at his Bedminster golf club, boasting about and showing classified war plans for Iran. Trump told Fox Entertainment, last month,

“There was no document. That was a massive amount of papers and everything else talking about Iran and other things.” And it may have been held up or may not, but that was not a document. I didn’t have a document, per se. There was nothing to declassify. These were newspaper stories, magazine stories and articles.” 

Right, Donnie. Here is hoping that Team Trump has another ‘productive’ day today and more ‘productive’ days in the very near future.
