Retribution

back in March 2023, in front of a CPAC audience, Donald Trump said that he would be their retribution. He is keeping his promise. One of his administration pics is Brendan Carr to be in charge of the FCC. Carr, wrote an entire chapter on the FCC in the project 2025 report. This is what the media reform group said about Brendan Carr’s appointment.

“Carr doesn’t care about protecting the public interest; he got this job because he will carry out Trump and Musk’s personal vendettas.”

This is what Carr has said himself.

“broadcast media have had the privilege of using a scarce and valuable public resource — our airwaves. In turn, they are required by law to operate in the public interest. The FCC will enforce this public interest obligation.”

Over the past years, Trump has demanded that the licenses of a number of broadcast outlets, who have criticized him, be revoked. he very well may do that.

The media have already started backing down on Trump’s threats. before the election, Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post refused to endorse either Harris or Trump for president. The Washington Post, a left leaning newspaper have endorsed presidential candidates for years. But not this time.

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, have been one of the harshest critics of Trump over the years. yet, to the disgust of their audience and MSNBC staffers, they went to Mar-a-Lago, last weekend, and had an interview with Trump. they practically kissed his ring.

We are in a very dangerous time folks. A cornerstone of democracy, is a media that is free to speak without fear of retaliation. Under Trump, this could very well end soon.

All I got for today.
