There are a number of days that I wake up, expecting to see WTF headlines about Trump, and I’m not disappointed. There are some days though that I just wake up sick of heart and think that it’s gone too far and it’s never coming back. Donald Trump will be addressing the US nation tonight. I never thought I’d see the day where a president would address the nation about conspiracy theories, and his belief in them. He will talk about election fraud how the fraud caused him to lose 2020 election. He is going to attack the US election system. He is going to put democracy in doubt.
In the last couple of days, Donald Trump has overturned the ICE to not have any traffic stops after two apparently innocent people were shot and killed one in Maine and one in Texas.
Senator Jon Ossoff, of Georgia, stated a couple of days ago that most Republican senators believe that Donald Trump has lost it and will bring down the Republican party in the midterms. However, these Republican senators might be wrong because Trump is doing everything possible to pervert the legitimacy of the midterm elections coming up as evidenced by tonight’s upcoming address
Trump accused Democrats of weaponizing and politicizing the Department of justice when Joe Biden was president. Trump is doing it far worse as evidenced yesterday by Todd Blanche’s responses in his confirmation hearing yesterday. He actually made a Freudian slip by accidentally stating that he is Trump’s lawyer before saying that he was Trump’s lawyer.
I think a reason for my depression is that I had just finished a book by Len Deighton a spy novelist, entitled Winter. Part of the story in the book covered the rise of Hitler in the 1920s and 1930s in Germany. I could not help but see the striking similarities of what occurred back then and what is occurring now in the US.
It would be nice if the Major networks tonight did not carry Trump‘s address. But of course they will because news is news.
That’s all I really have to say for today.
